A political stalemate in Iraq has once again unravelled into bouts of violence in Baghdad, with rival armed groups clashing in the Green Zone. The situation appears to be calming for now. But the political power vacuum dividing the largest parliamentary blocs and their militias sustains the prospect of further violence, up to and including another civil war in the country.
In this briefing, our experts will outline scenarios and indicators for the political impasse, including the likelihood of related violence and the potential for a descent into a civil war. Our panel will also discuss the impact of the situation and these scenarios on business operations in Baghdad, the southern provinces and the country more broadly. We will conclude with a Q&A where attendees can pose further questions to the panel.
We look forward to you joining. Places are limited and preference will be given to Dragonfly clients.
